Panos Antonaropoulos
President and Managing Director
Panos Antonaropoulos was born in Athens, Greece, in 1957, where he still lives and works. He is married to Nanda Vlachou-Antonaropoulou. He graduated from high school in 1975 and during the same year he was accepted in the National Technical University of Athens in the faculty of Civil Engineering from where he graduated in 1980. He served in the Navy for two years. He speaks and writes very well the English language.
He started his professional career in 1983 in the field of consulting engineering services, collaborating with the company Hydromet LTD of the late Constantinos Zeris, dealing mainly with Hydraulic, Structural and Environmental projects. The collaboration resulted in the founding of the Consulting Company “K. Zeris – P. Antonaropoulos and Associates LTD (Z&A Ltd) in 1990.
Aris Bakalis
Technical Director of Z&A and Director of Hydraulic Infrastructures and Irrigation Dept.
Aris Bakalis got his Civil Engineering diploma in 1999, along with his specialization in Hydraulic Sector (MSc) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He started his career as a junior engineer in K. Zeris – P. Antonaropoulos and Associates Ltd in 1999. He has 22 years of consulting experience in the Hydraulic and Structural sectors. He became partner of Z&A in 2004. He has working experience in Greece, Cyprus, Zambia, Yemen, Rwanda, Mauritius and Ethiopia.
Ioannis Batsolakis
Director of Dam Design and Hydraulic Infrastructure
Ioannis Batsolakis holds an M.Sc. in the Geotechnical and Hydraulic Sector from the National Technical University of Athens. He started his career as a junior engineer in PPC (Public Power Corporation) where he he has gained valuable experience in the Hydropower sector. He has 38 years of consulting experience in public and private engineering sector. He has working experience in Greece, Cyprus, Yemen, Kenya and Ethiopia.
George Germanopoulos
Director of Water Supply and Non revenue Dept.
Dr George Germanopoulos has more than 32 years of experience designing, leading and supporting water sector activities. Academically trained, with a Ph.D. degree in Water Supply Network Modelling and Operation and an M.Sc. in Engineering Hydrology. He is also Certified Project Manager with the Association of Project Management (APM), UK. His has proven experience in leading complex activities including treated sewage effluent irrigation and surface water drainage design in Doha, managing water losses from the water supply system of Addis Ababa, assessing the performance of the Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company in Zambia, planning and designing major water supply and wastewater management schemes in Greece. Dr Germanopoulos serves in roles that require high-level liaising with clients and stakeholders.
Rainer Dell’Onze
Director of Construction Management & Supervision Dept.
Rainer Dell’Onze has a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the University of Milano and more than 38 years of international experience in assignments related to Construction and specifically to Dam infrastructure construction supervision. He became the Director of the Construction Management and Supervision Department of Z&A in 2018, and is currently responsible for the Construction Supervision of the Mwomboshi Dam in Zambia.
Irene Sakellari
Director of Hydrology, Water Management & Environmental Dept.
Irene Sakellari, has a degree in Civil Engineering, an MSc of Imperial College in Hydrology for Environmental Management, and an MSc in Engineering Project management. She has more than 13 years of international experience in assignments related to Hydrology and Environment. She has extensive experience in Water Resources Management (WRM) projects having been involved in many Multi-Purpose Water Resources Infrastructure projects in Europe and in Sub Saharan countries.
Anastasios Pantermarakis
Business Development Department
Tasos Pantermarakis holds an MSc in Engineering Management from the University of Coventry. He has started his career as a mechanical engineer and later as a Productivity & Management consultant for several companies in the UK and Greece. He spent 8 years, from 2006 to 2014, as the Plant Manager for an Automotive products firm in Greece, before joining Z&A in 2014. Since then he is the Head of the Business Development Department of the firm, responsible for identifying rising business opportunities and building long term relationships with clients and other project stakeholders.
Maria Athanasiou
Director of Sewage Dept.
Maria Athanasiou started her career as a junior engineer in K. Zeris – P. Antonaropoulos and Associates Ltd in 1992. With an MSc in Hydraulic Engineering she has a deep knowledge and experience of more than 30 years in Hydraulics and Sewerage Projects. She is partner of Z&A and has working experience in Greece and Cyprus.
Kostas Pavlakis
Director of Structural Dept.
With a BSc and an MSc from National Technical University of Athens in Structural Engineering, Kostas Pavlakis has a deep knowledge and experience of more than 15 years in Structural Analysis with a specialization in Water Related Infrastructures.
Michael J. Kavvadas
Geotechnical Expert
Prof Michael J. Kavvadas obtained his PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA. USA in 1982. Since 1998, he is Associate Professor in the Geotechnical Department of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). In addition to his extensive academic research experience (including three books and over 160 research publications), he has over 30 year consulting experience in large geotechnical projects (including dams, landslides, foundations of infrastructures, tunnelling, marine works, mining, etc.) in Greece and other countries (Cyprus, Kenya, Uganda, S. Sudan, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Mauritius, Zambia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Egypt, Kuwait, Iraq). Since 2005 he has been collaborating with Z&A as geotechnical expert on all geotechnical aspects of Z&A projects.
