The main components of this contract were: a) to identify and quantify areas which cannot be connected and served by the city centralized system proposed by the wastewater master plans due to its physical inaccessibility or due to a delayed implementation plan for the centralized system by evaluating the study reports and paying technical visits to the sites b) to propose a technical solution to the identified pocket areas to consider, by categorizing in to different groups to be entertained with its own identified decentralized wastewater management system to be plugged in to the conventional system whenever the system is ready in the future, c) to propose and design decentralized waste water treatment plants for the identified areas that cannot be served by the conventional sewer master plan in the near future due to its topographic situation and lagging wastewater management implementation plan, d) to produce design detailed standard construction drawings, technical specifications, detail design calculations, BoQs and Engineering costs estimate for all proposed wastewater collection and treatment plant including other relevant infrastructures.

The analysis included interconnected rural and urban catchments, covering a total area of 9km2. The hydraulic design process included 1D non-uniform flow modeling of three main watercourses, namely the Signal Mountain cutoff drain, the Pouce stream, the Ruisseau des Creoles stream and their feeding drains, corresponding to a total length of 6.3km, including the evaluation of the hydraulic performance of five supercritical flow junctions, sixteen bridges and two covered sections, of around 0.8km. Moreover, it included the proposal of appropriate engineering works to alleviate flooding problems at Place d' Armes and the investigation of potential flood peak attenuation measures at the upstream (rural and semi-urban) parts of the catchments. Among the proposed solutions was the reconstruction of insufficient bridges and culverts, the increase of the hydraulic capacity of the streams, the construction of a flood detention pond and the design of new drainage works in specific areas.

OBA (Output-Based Aid) is a results-based financing mechanism that is increasingly being used to deliver basic infrastructure and social services to the poor. The general objective of the Feasibility Study was to design an OBA Scheme to support the construction of field channels and land improvements allowing the delivery of satisfactory irrigation services to the 16,000 smallholder farmers as beneficiaries of the Megech-Seraba and Ribb I&D Schemes resulting in higher returns to investments, higher incomes for the farmers and improved protection of the environment. The area to be irrigated is 17,340 ha.

The scope of this project is the capacity upgrade of the existing infrastructure of Kaiafa's Thermal Spring Park at west Peloponnese. The Kaiafa's complex, 3.67km² total area, included the facilities of thermal baths and the hotels on the island of St Cathrine. Project interventions consisted of preliminary and detailed design study of the water supply and sanitation networks of the existing facilities along with the future accomodation proposed by the Master Plan of the park .The total number of visitors is estimated at 1000 c/day in high season.The water supply transmission and distribution network consisted of 116km total length and a tank 500m³ volume. The sewerage ssytem included a PVC network of approximate 5Km pipes, six pumping stations and a new WWTP to serve 1000 PE.

The USA acting through the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) signed a Compact Agreement with the Government of Zambia which includes investments in water supply, sanitation and drainage in the City of Lusaka, where the Lusaka Water Supply, Sanitation and Drainage (LWSSD) Project was supported. The purpose of this Consultancy was to assist in the successful implementation of the Sustainability Agreement. The project was separated in two phases. During phase A' a comprehensive set of performance indicators were proposed, covering all aspects of LWSC performance and performance indicator baseline and target values were established. The duration of Phase B' is set to 5 years and the scope of this service was to monitor progress towards the target values. Phase B' is an on going consultancy.
The proposed performance indicators were structured into Indicators for Water Services, Indicators for Wastewater Services, Financial, Governance and Personnel Indicators.

This contract focuses on seven distinct areas of Mauritius, which have been identified as priority areas by the National Development Unit (NDU), namely: Grand Baie, Pamplemousses, Central Flacq, Cottage, Clemencia, Sebastopol, Gros Billot. The general objective is to evaluate the existing conditions, both within the flooding areas and the wider catchments, and identify the most effective solutions to alleviate these problems in the foreseeable future.The size of the catchments under study varies between 0.3 and 26.5km². The total area of the catchments that have been analysed in all seven sites is approximately 110km².Drainage networks have been proposed in nine cases, aiming mainly to solve problems of low lying areas within the settlements. A total of 28 existing bridges and culverts have been also assessed, in terms of their hydraulic capacity, and the construction of new structures has been proposed in ten cases.

The overall objective of the study is to undertake a prefeasibility study covering the entire study area(19 sites) and to continue with feasibility studies and detailed designs of multiple land husbandry, dam and hillside irrigation schemes at selected sites with a total net area of 3,500 ha (total gross area of 4,200 ha). The sites will be located at different parts of Rwanda and the studies will be carried out in two parts.The study will aim to produce cost effective and socially acceptable designs. Maps and summary reports of potential sites that have already been identified by the Land Husbandry, Water Harvesting and Hillside Irrigation (LWH) Project will be made available to the Consultant. Lot 1 sites are located within the boundaries of the Eastern and Northern provinces of Rwanda.Finally a feasibility study of an HPP of 0.2 MW will prepared. The project is to be tendered.

The project developed three sites at feasibility and detail design level (Group 1 sites - 6400ha) and evaluated the potential to develop another four sites at a later stage, at prefeasibility level (Group 2 sites). Public and private partnerships (PPP) were created for the irrigation development and management in al Irrigation Development Support Projectl IDSP sites. Project interventions consisted of a three-tier system at each of the irrigation sites to be developed. Water supply is ensured via the construction of Mwomboshi dam, which will be 23m high and have a total storage volume of around 62MCM. The dam catchment is 954km². All four Group 2 sites - 10000ha - require the construction of a dam to ensure the necessary water volumes. The overall objective of the study was to undertake a prefeasibility study covering the entire study area and to continue with feasibility studies and detailed designs of multiple land husbandry, dam and hillside irrigation schemes at selected sites with a total irrigation net area of 3,500 ha (total gross area of 4,200 ha). All required surveys topographical, geotechnical, soil and socio were part of the services.Finally a feasibility study of an HPP of 0.2 MWwas prepared. The project was tendered.

The Rupingazi small hydropower plant project consists of a typical small hydro layout with a side intake, a delivery canal leading to a fore bay and a steel penstock leading to the power plant. The project is located at the Rupingazi river, a tributary of Thiba River in the Upper Tana basin, in Kenya.The rated capacity of the plant is 4 MW delivered by two (2) similar Pelton turbines of 2 MW each. The plant is utilizing flows up to 3.5 m³/s, over a net hydraulic head of about 130 m.
The project involved the full detailed design of the plant, including hydrology of the site, geological and geotechnical issues, the hydraulic design of the intake, canal, fore bay and penstock as well as the power calculations and the specification of the electro-mechanical equipment to be installed.

Evros River flows at the eastern Balkan peninsula and its basin covers a total area of 53,000km2, spread between Bulgaria (35,085km² - 66.2% of the total area), Turkey (14,575km² - 27.5%) and Greece (3,340 km2 - 6.3%). The total river flow length is 528km, of which 310km are within Bulgarian territories while the remaining 218km define the borderline of the three countries. It is the second largest river of the Balkans, after Danube, and transports a significant sediment yield, creating an estuary of high environmental value at the Aegean Sea. The Greek part of the basin has around 1.5% of the country's population and is characterized by mostly agricultural and livestock activities.The study aims at identifying future flood risks, based on historic information and detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, in order to propose administrative measures and civil protection actions that will allow for reducing the impact of flooding events in the future.
